Defibrillators; These are devices that provide the recovery of the patient by returning the heart to normal sinus rhythm in vital cardiac anomalies such as asystole or fibrillation, and do this by passing a short-term but high-capacity current through the patient.

Defibrillators are devices that can increase the energy they receive from the batteries they carry, up to 360J in seconds, by means of amplifying circuits. In terms of electrical transmission, defibrillators are divided into two; monophasic and biphasic defibrillators. While monophasic defibrillators transmit the current in positive phase, that is, in one direction, biphasic defibrillators transmit the current in both positive and negative phase, that is, bidirectional. One of the vital issues here is that the sent current is sent asynchronously with the T Wave so that it does not cause ventricular fibrillation, nowadays most defibrillators do this with an ECG-based algorithm called Cardioversion.

Another defibrillator that is becoming more common day by day is AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator). AEDs, mainly public spaces; factories, schools, museums, universities, offices, public buildings etc. These are automatic defibrillators located in areas with high human population and traffic, such as AEDs are designed to operate with a minimum of user responsibility should the need arise.

After an AED is activated, it guides the user using audio and visual prompts to resolve the situation and delivers current to the patient via pads at a predefined value for pediatric and adult patients. AEDs primarily detect whether the patient needs this current with a rapid ECG analysis, and as a result delivers a shock. In this way, semi-autonomous AEDs are one of the barriers standing between us and possible death or permanent brain damage.
