Surgical lamps are lighting fixtures that are ceiling mounted or designed to provide lighting from above even in mobile form. The operating lamps perform the function of illuminating the sterile area and the working area of the personnel performing the operation, in the range of 130,000 - 160,000 lux, while preserving the true tissue color (>85 CRI). It is mostly found in Operational Operating Rooms, Procedure rooms and Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Surgical lamps can be single-armed, double-armed or three-armed, or active surgical images can be viewed by adding a monitor connected to the integrated camera system on an extra arm.

Surgical lamps should be able to provide all possible positions and angles due to their design without the need for the surgical team to apply an extreme force. In addition, control controls should be designed and positioned so that they can be used easily with sterile equipment in order to easily adjust the light.
